For more than 20 years we have been supporting well-known companies in Germany and abroad in the conception and implementation of workshops & trainings in our core competencies “leadership”, “communication and customer orientation” and “personality development”. In more than 20 years and more than 200 workshops, seminars, and individual coaching sessions per year, we have gained a lot of experience – also in various industries. This flows into every workshop. All our course participants appreciate the concrete examples for their own reflection. And for us, they serve as visualisation.

Our seminars are tailored to your needs and expectations and are hands-on. The trainings are conducted by trainers from the field for the field. All your contact persons have gained many years of management experience in various industries before becoming self-employed, so that we can appoint the right trainer for your industry.

A large team of trainers enables us to cover practically any desired date. We conduct our trainings in 5 languages. This enables us to accompany even large projects over a longer period of time in all language regions of Switzerland or internationally.

THE Business Training Company GmbH was founded in February 1999 by Jacqueline Steffen Oberholzer as a sole proprietorship under the name “steffen strategic marketing & management”. As a marketing & communication expert the primary focus was to support SMEs in marketing issues.

In 2000, a new phase of development began, culminating in 2004 in a clear specialisation in seminars, training courses and coaching. Under the name ‘steffen coaching – the business training company’, she formed a dedicated team of trainers and expanded the range of services to include multilingual, practical content. Since 2018, the company has been called THE Business Training Company – a sign of stability and success.

Jacqueline Steffen passed away unexpectedly at the end of 2024. Her legacy lives on in the many people who were inspired by her work. She was an entrepreneur with vision and enthusiasm. Her workshops were deeply rooted in practical experience and drew on a wealth of knowledge – as a communications professional, manager and trainer.

On 1 July 2025, Martin Vogel and his company develup GmbH took over the business of THE Business Training Company. As a trainer in the company, he knows the DNA of THE Business Training Company and brings not only professional expertise, but also a deep understanding of the values and philosophy that shaped Jacqueline. With this experience and a clear vision for further development, he is leading the company into the next era – with the aim of combining quality, humanity and practical orientation. Under his leadership, THE Business Training Company remains a reliable partner for its customers and team of trainers.

Martin Vogel manages the company and is your contact person for all questions relating to training and coaching. Depending on the topic and requirements, he evaluates the optimal trainer – and leads workshops, training courses and seminars himself.

With an Executive MBA in Strategic Marketing and a federal diploma in communications management, Martin Vogel brings in-depth expertise in communications, customer enthusiasm, marketing and sales to the table. His many years of C-level professional experience in a wide range of industries make him an accomplished expert in strategy development and corporate management. He knows how to analyse complex challenges, set clear strategic impulses and align organisations for sustainable success.

Gustav is the star salesman and mental coach in our team. He conducts sales and mental trainings. He conducts his trainings in German.

Monika Domeisen

Monika is the business etiquette specialist in our team. When dress code, etiquette rules and handling on the phone are required. She also enjoys working with learners and can absolutely inspire them. She conducts her trainings & workshops in German.

Mirko Oberholzer

Mirko holds a degree in law and economics (lic.iur. HSG) from the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland. He also holds a postgraduate degree in European and International Business Law (M.B.L – HSG) and an Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA HSG). He has many years of management experience in international companies and conducts management and negotiation training and change management workshops.
